Guinea: Ebola art exhibition opens in Conakry

Conakry, Guinea (PANA) – An art and craft exhibition aimed at sensitizing the public on the deadly Ebola virus disease mounted by several Guinean artists opened on Wednesday at the national museum of Conakry.

The two-month exhibition is composed of photographs, videos, music, poetry and sculpture.

According to the organisers, the exhibition aims to contribute to efforts being made in the country to fight the deadly Ebola epidemic, which is ravaging the country.

"The exhibition is a set of messages that will be conveyed to efficiently fight against Ebola. It is a sensitization and communication exercise against the disease," said Bilia Adama Bah, one of the organizers.

He said African artists passing through Conakry during the exhibition could also take part in it.

Sources say that it is the Spanish embassy in Guinea which conceived the exhibition project.
