Gbagbo attends peace meeting in Barcelona

Abidjan- Cote d'Ivoire (PANA) -- President Laurent Gbagbo of Cote d'Ivoire is in Barcelona to take part in an international peace meeting focusing on conflict resolution across the world, notably Africa.
The forum, holding under the auspices of the Italian Catholic Community of Sant'Egidio, is scheduled to run through 5 September.
Other figures in attendance are former Portuguese Prime Minister Mario Soares and former Indonesian President Adwahaman Wahid, as well as nine Cardinals.
Also taking part are Christian, Muslim and Jewish theologians and writers.
Founded in 1989, the Sant'Egidio Catholic Community counts more than 60,000 members in some 30 countries.
In 1999 the community won the Houphouet-Boigny International Prize for peace research.
