Gambia's Jeggan Senghor to contest ECOWAS top post

Banjul- Gambia (PANA) -- Gambia has named Dr Jeggan Senghor as its candidate for the post of ECOWAS Executive Secretary to replace Lansana Kouyateh, the Banjul-published Independent Newspaper reported.
Senghor, who has worked with the UN systems for over 25 years, holds doctorate from Yale Univesity in the US, Bachelor of science in economics from London University and BA in political science and economics.
He has won several academic awards, including the Commonwealth scholarship and Aggrey Fellowship in United States of America.
Senghor told the local press that he was very pleased to be nominated as a candidate for this high position.
He said he has the potential to effectively man the ECOWAS secretariat and that he would serve the common people if voted into office.
Before being appointed to head the MULPOC in Niamey, Dr Senghor was director of the Dakar-based Institute of Development Economic Planning
