Gabonese government welcomes Ouattara’s call for national reconciliation

Libreville, Gabon (PANA) - The Gabonese government said Wednesday it welcomes Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara's call for national reconciliation, in the wake of Monday's arrest of  
former President Laurent Gbagbo in Abidjan.

"Gabon hopes that Côte d'Ivoire, which is a brotherly and friendly country, will recover the values that were once responsible for its prosperity and stability and will use dialogue, tolerance and respect for human rights to rebuild, " the government said in a statement here.

Gabon also said it welcomes the assurances given by President Ouattara to ensure the safety and integrity of Gbagbo, his wife and all those who were apprehended.
