French deputy minister attends AU summit

Paris- France (PANA) -- French Deputy Minister for Cooperation Xavier Darcos is attending the third African Union (AU) summit that kicked off Tuesday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Foreign ministry spokesperson Herve Ladsous announced here.
Darcos will be received on the sidelines of the summit by AU Commission chairperson Alpha Oumar Konare.
He is also scheduled to hold discussions with several African leaders on the crises in Cote d'Ivoire, Darfur and the Great Lakes.
Paris has been involved in the resolution of African crises, including those in the Comoros, Cote d'Ivoire and DR Congo.
France also provides training within a scheme to reinforce the peacekeeping capacity African (RECAMP).
