Francophonie scribe tours Africa

Paris- France (PANA) -- International Organisation of the Francophonie (OIF) secretary general Abdou Diouf set off Thursday on a ten-day African trip during which he will visit Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome and Principe, Chad and the Central African Republic (CAR), sources confirmed here Friday.
He would in Libreville on 11 February attend the opening ceremony of the summit of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC).
Diouf would also hand over an OIF donation of educational equipment including books and audio-visual material destined for reading and recreation centres in Gabon.
He is due in Malabo on 13 February for talks with President Teodoro Obiang Nguema of Equatorial Guinea.
In N'djamena, Diouf will meet with President Idriss Deby of Chad, as well as envoys from French-speaking countries.
The former Senegalese Head of State will end his ten-day tour in the CAR where he is scheduled to meet with President François Bozize and leaders of the countries transitional institutions.
