Tripoli, Libya (PANA) – Flights resumed on Tuesday evening at Tripoli airport after govermment forces regained control from an armed group that attacked it and suspended operations on Monday.
Airport sources said operations had returned to normal with the departure of an international flight to Europe.
A flight of Austrian Airline left Tripoli airport at 1705 hours local time for Vienna, with 52 passengers on board.
An armed group on Monday attacked Tripoli airport to protest against circumstances of the kidnapping of its commander, colonel Abouajila Al-Habchi. Government forces flushed out the armed group later in the day.
