First Diaspora Africa Forum Mission opens in Accra

Accra- Ghana (PANA) -- The first Diaspora Africa Forum Mission opened Sunday in Accra, with a call on Africans and those in the Diaspora to team up for mutual benefits and to rebuild the continent.
The Mission would serve as a rallying centre for Africans and their Diaspora counterparts to engage in discussions and activities towards a return and reconstruction of Africa.
Joe Badoe Ammissah, Ghana's Deputy Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, performed the inauguration on behalf of Ghanaian president John Kufuor, who is also the chairman of the African Union.
Bridgitte Katriku, chief director of the Ministry said the creation of the Ministry is to give full support in bringing back Africans in foreign lands back home.
She said it is by providence coupled with hard work that the Mission is opened during Ghana's Golden Jubilee year.
Katriku announced that Ghana would soon launch a project called the Joseph Project that would seek to encourage Africans in the Diaspora to return, invest and stay permanently in Ghana.
The second mission is scheduled to be opened in Nigeria.
