FIFA rejects Egypt's appeal

Algiers- Algeria (PANA) -- The international governing body of soccer, FIFA, has rejected an appeal from the Egyptian Football Association following the World Cup Group C qualifying match in Algeria on 21 July.
Egypt protested after having drawn the match 1-1, which was not sufficient to see them through to the 2002 World Cup finals in Korea and Japan.
The protest was based on a number of incidents during the match in which stones and other objects were thrown onto the pitch by fans.
FIFA's decision on Friday confirms the qualification of Senegal, winners of Group C, ahead of Morocco and Egypt.
