Ethiopian crisis: PM Abiy congratulates citizens for recapture of strategic towns

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (PANA) - Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has congratulated citizens across the nation and abroad following the recapture of the strategic towns of Dessie and Kombolcha in Amhara region from the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF). 

The official Ethiopian News Agency (ENA), reported that while congratulating Ethiopians also for the recapture of Shewa, Kemise and Bati, PM Abiy said the victory will continue in the northern Wollo Zone "with the same energy and spirit".

ENA said the Prime Minister noted that the victory so far had resulted in "significant human and material losses to the terrorist TPFL group" as many of their armed forces are surrendering to the Ethiopian National Defence Forces (ENDF).

In a related development, the Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) said it has repaired damaged power lines from Shewa Robit to Karakore and has completed readying the transmission lines covering Shewa Robit, Jewha, Senbete, Ataye and Karakore towns.
