Cairo, Egypt (PANA) - Egypt's football team jumped seven steps to 29th position in the monthly FIFA world rankings issued by the sport's governing body on Wednesday.
Cote d'Ivoire's Elephants continued to top all African football teams, taking the 19th position.
The Pharaohs were second best in Africa, followed by Ghana's Black Stars, ranked 33rd.
Algeria's Desert Warriors were fourth in the African standings at 35th, while Senegal's Lions wrapped up the top five, coming in 42nd, according to FIFA. Nigeria was ranked 44th.
World and European champions Spain continued to dominate the global standings at number one, while Netherlands, Germany, Uruguay and Brazil complete the top five slots.
