Ebola virus kills six in the North-western Congo

Brazzaville- Congo (PANA) -- Ebola haemorrhagic fever has killed six people while 12 others have been infected by the often lethal virus in Congo's Western Basin region near the border with Gabon, a source close to the ministry of health said in Brazzaville Friday.
According to the director of the unit combating Ebola at the health ministry, Stanislas Ebata-Mongo, a total of 150 people were under observation because they had contacts with Ebola patients.
The Congolese government and the World Health Organisation have sent medical teams to assist patients and follow their epidemiological situation, Ebata-Mongo added.
Congolese minister of Communication and government spokesman Francois Ibovi announced Wednesday that Ebola had so far killed five people infected 11 others.
