Ebola-like outbreak contained in north-eastern Gabon

Libreville- Gabon (PANA) -- A viral haemorraghic fever, which has the same symptoms like ebola, has been brought under control in the north-eastern Ogooue-Ivindo province of Gabon where its outbreak was reported two months ago.
Gabon's Public Health ministry said in a statement Sunday that after the disease was contained in Zadie (Mekambo) and Ivindo (Makokou) departments, no new case has been reported in the country.
Out of 60 cases diagnosed in the past two months, the ministry said 49 died and nine were convalescing.
It added that one of 12 suspected cases has also died.
