Abuja- Nigeria (PANA) -- The ECOWAS summit, originally scheduled for 21 December 2009 in Abuja, has again been postponed till 15 February, PANA reported here Sat u rday.
The summit, which was supposed to be the second ordinary session of heads of sta te and government of ECOWAS member countries for 2009, had earlier been postponed to 18 January, 2010.
No reason was given for the unprecedented double postponement but PANA learnt it may not be unconnected with the state of health of Nigerian President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, who is the current chairman of the 15-me mber regional bloc.
As chairman, Yar'Adua is supposed to preside over the meeting.
