ECOWAS reflects on lasting development

Abidjan- Cote d'Ivoire (PANA) -- Delegates from member countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are currently reflecting in Abidjan on ways to lasting development in the sub region, organisers said Tuesday.
The reflections come ahead of next year's World Summit on Lasting Development billed for Johannesburg, South Africa to evaluate grounds covered since the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Abidjan preparatory meeting, which ends on Wednesday, is organised in conjunction with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Ivorian government.
