Luanda, Angola (PANA) - ECOWAS will soon take on the responsibility to restructure and properly organize the national army of Guinea Bissau following the withdrawal of the Angolan officials from that job.
This indication is contained in a message from the ECOWAS president, Alassane Ouattara of Cote d'Ivore, to the Angolan leader, José Eduardo dos Santos.
The message was delivered by the Ivorian Foreign Minister, Duncan Kablan, who has since left Luanda.
Kablan, at the head of an ECOWAS delegation, briefed dos Santos on the situation prevailing in Guinea Bissau, saying that the Angolan leader later recommended a search for a true consensus in the Western African Portuguese-speaking country.
