ECOWAS condoles with Nigeria's President over fatal chopper crash

Abuja, Nigeria (PANA) - ECOWAS Commission President Kadré Ouédraogo has condoled with Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan over the 15 Dec. fatal crash of a military chopper that claimed six lives, including a State Governor and a former National Security Adviser (NSA).

In a statement, the ECOWAS boss expressed his ''heartfelt sympathy and solidarity'' with the Nigerian President over the crash.

“We received with utmost dismay the news of the helicopter accident,” President Ouedraogo said in a condolence message to President Jonathan, in which he also expressed his sincere condolences to the affected families.

Northern  Kaduna State Gov. Patrick Yakowa and former NSA Owoye Azazi, together with their aides and the two pilots of the helicopter, died in the crash.
