Diouf, Francophonie new chief, to visit Kinshasa

Kinshasa- DR Congo (PANA) -- Abdou Diouf, new Secretary General of the International Organisation of the Francophonie (IOF) is to visit DR Congo soon, Isabel Ruth Matchik Tsombe, an official of the Paris-based organisation, said in Kinshasa.
She said Diouf, the former Senegalese president who assumed the IOF top office 2 January, had pledged the organisation's support for "peace, unity and consolidation of the rule of law in DR Congo.
" The former Senegalese leader replaces Egypt's Boutros Boutros Ghali.
