Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - The offices of Nigeria's independent Thisday newspapers in the capital city of Abuja and the northern city of Kaduna were rocked by explosions Thursday morning, raising fears that the newspaper may be under coordinated attacks.
Eyewitnesses of the Kaduna attack told PANA that a building housing Thisday and two other newspapers (The Sun and The Moment) along Jos Road was hit by a blast which may have killed an unspecified number of people.
They said a vehicle drove into the building, and the driver came out and lobbed explosives, killing some bystanders.
The driver of the car is said to have been arrested by the police.
In Abuja, a resident told PANA that the offices of Thisday in the Jabi area of the city was rocked by a huge blast, which shook nearby buildings.
''The building is in smoke and ambulances are heading there,'' said the resident, who identified himself simply as Anselm.
