Côte d'Ivoire's Prime Minister resigns

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - Côte d'Ivoire's Prime Minister Patrick Achi resigned from the government on Wednesday 13 April, 2022, the Ivorian government announced in a statement.

President Alassane Ouattara has accepted the resignation and will proceed next week with the appointment of a new prime minister who will lead a tightened government of 30 members, the same source said.

Achi, 67, was appointed on 26 March 2021.

President Ouattara said he would form a government of 30 members against 41 given the international situation.

He also congratulated the former prime minister for the work done.
