Côte d'Ivoire lifts curfew

Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire (PANA) - The curfew imposed 31 March in Côte d'Ivoire by President-elect Alassane Ouattara was lifted on Monday throughout the country, the Ivorian television TCI has announced.

Normalcy is gradually returning to the country, following calls by the authorities for people to resume their normal social and business activities.

Limited fuel supply, transportation problems and fears of insecurity have slowed down the return to normalcy across the West African nation.

Last week's arrest of former President Laurent Gbagbo ended the country's post-election stalemate and paved the way for the restoration of peace.
