Cote d'Ivoire: Ivorian govt. creates national council for nutrition

Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire (PANA) –  The Ivorian Government on Wednesday established a national council for nutrition (NCN), with a view to resolving the chronic malnutrition which has a prevalence rate of 30% and increases infant mortality in the country.

According to the spokesman of the government, Bruno Nabagne Kone, the creation of the NCN followed the West African nation's decision to join the global movement, 'Scaling Up Nutrition', initiated by the United Nations to promote the right to food and good nutrition for all.
