Cote d'Ivoire: Ghana's President Mahama elected ECOWAS Chairman

Yamoussoukro, Cote d'Ivoire (PANA) - President John Dramani Manama of Ghana has been elected chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The election was at the 44th Ordinary Summit of ECOWAS in Yamoussoukro, Cote d'Ivoire,

He takes over from Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara who was elected in 2012.

President Mahama would have a two-year term.
