Cote d'Ivoire: BADEA DG visits Côte d’Ivoire

Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire (PANA) - Director General of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) Sidi Ould Tah is due to arrive here Tuesday on a four-day visit to Cote d'Ivoire, the Bank said Monday.

It said during the visit, Dr. Tah would meet with President Alassane Quattara, the Vice President, the Minister of Finance, as well as other ministers and government officials.

The meetings will focus on reviewing the prospects of cooperation between BADEA and Côte d’Ivoire, examining the current status of on-going projects and setting a programme covering the Bank’s interventions for the forthcoming years.

The meetings will be concluded with the signing of a US$12 million loan agreement to contribute towards financing the “Water Supply for Abengourou City and Surrounding Villages” project in Côte d’Ivoire.

Also during the visit, Dr. Tah will participate in the “Africa Islamic Finance Forum 2015”, to be held in Abidjan 17-18 Sept.

The forum, organized by the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), is the first of its kind to be held in Côte d’Ivoire.

BADEA interventions in Africa cover 44 sub-Saharan African countries and a number of regional organizations.

The interventions focus on infrastructure, agriculture and rural development, energy, industry, social (health and education) and the private sector.
