Consumers campaign for quality norms in Benin

Cotonou- Benin (PANA) -- Consumers in Benin have planned a 15- day workshop beginning here mid-September on the theme "metrology, an essential service to defend consumers", organisers announced here Saturday.
There will be discussions between business leaders, suppliers, consumers and metrology experts during the meeting, which is meant to increase awareness of consumers on the control of quality norms in transactions.
The verification of scales and other means of measure and the calibration of electronic weighing devices are among the activities of the planned workshop, which will open with a debating conference on electronic billing and the control of electric counters.
