Congolese First Lady launches anti-AIDS campaign

Brazzaville- Congo (PANA) -- Congolese First Lady Antoinette Sassou Nguesso Thursday in Brazzaville launched a national anti-AIDS campaign, with the theme: "Save the child to be born".
"We are relying on organizations working in this field and are asking them to assist us in our work," said Nguesso, who asked women to have themselves screened.
The campaign is part of the recommendations of the First Ladies conference, which took place in Accra, the capital city of Ghana.
As part of the fight against AIDS, Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso had previously announced that anti-retroviral drugs would be free from 2007.
