Chad gets 9.58 million-dollar loan from BADEA

Khartoum- Sudan (PANA) -- Khartoum-based Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), is providing Chad with a loan of 9.
58 million US Dollars for land reclamation in the country's Anjuri region.
The Bank said in a release Monday that the project involved reclamation of some of 10,000 hectares of land, as well as the construction of 90 wells and water reservoirs for irrigation.
BADEA said the project would help improve the farmers' living standards by increasing livestock and agricultural production in the region.
The loan is repayable in 28 years with a grace period of six years, and carries an interest rate of two percent.
The loan agreement was signed by the Chadian Ambassador to Sudan, Sagour Youssouf, and BADEA's General Director Midhat Lutfi, at the Bank's offices in Khartoum, the release added.
