Central African Republic, Sudan to probe border violence

Bangui- Central Africa Republic (PANA) -- Central African Republic and Sudan have agreed to set up a Commission to investigate the 17 May bloody communal clashes along their common border, officials said in Bangui.
The 10-member Commission would identify the victims and trace stray herds of cattle in the affected area.
The officials said residents of Central African towns of Mamoun, Gordil and Tiringoulou in the Birao region and some Sudanese and Chadian breeders were involved in the crisis.
Some 100 people were reported killed in the violence and reprisals that followed, with an undisclosed number of persons taken hostage.
A Sudanese delegation, which visited Bangui recently, is also expected to visit Chad over the skirmishes.
