Census for Angolan refugees in Kinshasa kicks off next week

Kinshasa- DR Congo (PANA) -- The National Commission for Refugees (CNR) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the Angola Embassy to DRC, as well as the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (HCR) will from Monday begin a census to check number of Angolan refugees in the District of Kin s hasa, a statement from CNR said on Friday.
According to the statement the census, which is aimed at enabling Angolans who w ish to go back home to officially show it, would only be for refugees holding a r efugee certificate and a Voluntary Repatriation Form (VRF).
Four sites in Kinshasa have been targeted for the operation expected to end on 2 5 June, said CNR, which said there are 23,163 Angolan refugees in the Congolese c apital.
