Cape Verde president to attend Francophonie summit

Praia- Cape Verde (PANA) -- President Pedro Pires of of Cape Verde will attend the 10th International Organisation of the Francophonie (OIF) summit Friday and Saturday in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, official sources revealed to PANA in Praia.
Pires will become the first Cape Verdian head of state to participate in an OIF summit since the country joined the organisation of mainly French- speking countries as a full member.
Sources at the Cape Verdean presidency indicated that in his speech, Predro Pires will highlight the problems facing small island states and training.
The main theme of the 10th OIF summit will be: "Francophonie, a Framework of Solidarity for Sustainable Development".
