Cameroon takes on Austria Wednesday in friendly

Yaounde- Cameroon (PANA) -- Cameroon's national football squad, the Indomitable Lions, will take on Austria Wednesday in Vienna in a warm-up match ahead of the forthcoming World Cup finals jointly hosted by Japan and South Korea, Andre Nguidjol, administrative and financial director of the Lions, said Tuesday in Yaounde.
National coach Winfried Shaeffer has named 25 players for the encounter.
The players include Pierre Njanka Beaka, making a comeback in the football squad, Jerry Christian Thuisse, Joseph Desire Job and Lauren Etame Mayer who did not join the squad during the Indomitable Lions' last match played in Geneva (Switzerland) against Argentina.
That match ended 2-2.
Besides, the team will also welcome newcomer Francis Kioyo who plays for the German Division II side, Greuther.
Among the players not selected for the match are Raymond Kalla and Patrick Mboma who are still recovering from injuries.
The participation of key striker Samuel Eto'o Fils in the match is also in doubt as the latter was currently in South Africa to attend the African Football 2001 Awards ceremony.
The last match pitching Cameroon against Austria was played 11 June 1998 in Toulouse, France, as part of the first round of the World Cup hosted by France.
It ended in a 1-1 draw.
