CEN-SAD commission begins work on Chad-Sudan tension

Tripoli- Libya (PANA) – The Verification Commissio-n on easing tension between Chad and Sudan held a meeting here Sunday attended by Dr.
Ali Triki, secretary for African Affairs at the Libyan general people's Committee for External Relations and International Co-operation, and Mohamed Al-Madani Al-Azhari, secretary general of the Community of Sahelian-Saharan States (CEN-SAD).
The commission, established during the eight ordinary summit of CEN-SAD leaders held early June in Tripoli, is led by Libya with Ghana, Burkina Faso and the CEN-SAD's secretariat general as members.
The Verification Commission discussed strategies aimed at enabling the members of the commission to begin actual work on the ground, a Libyan official source said.
Members of the Commission plan to shortly visit Chad, Sudan and the Central African Republic after which they will present a report on their investigations to Col.
Moammar Kadhafi, CEN-SAD's current chairman and permanent High sponsor of peace within CEN- SAD, the source added.
