Nairobi- Kenya (PANA) -- Muzinga of Burundi will take on a Kenyan side still to be named, when the East and Central African football club championship kicks off in Kampala, Uganda on 25 January 2003.
Releasing the fixtures Thursday, Confederation of East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) secretary Nicholas Musonye said the clubs at the tournament scheduled to run 25 January through 6 February next year will play in three groups.
Kenya is yet to confirm its representative, with conflicting sources citing AC Nakuru and Nzoia Sugar.
According to the draws, Uganda's SC Villa head Group A, which includes Yanga of Tanzania, El Merreikh (Sudan), Red Sea (Eritrea) and Mlandege (Zanzibar).
Group B includes Simba (Tanzania), Kenya's representatives, Muzinga (Burundi) and Borrer of Djibouti.
Pooled in Group C are Rayon (Rwanda), St George (Ethiopia), Elman (Somalia) and a second representative from host country Uganda.
Group winners will automatically qualify for the semi finals, the pairing of which would be completed by the best second-placed club.
