CAF qualifiers for 2018 World Cup: Some first-round, first-leg results

Cairo, Egypt (PANA) - Here are some results from the first-round, first-leg matches of the CAF qualifiers for 2018 World Cup, to be held in Russia.

Comoros 0-0 Lesotho
Second leg on 13 Oct.

Seychelles 0-1 Burundi
Second leg 13 Oct.

Mauritius 2-5 Kenya
Second leg 11 Oct.

Tanzania 2-0 Malawi
Second leg 11 Oct.

The match between South Sudan and Mauritania kicked off 7 October 2015 but was abandoned after 10 minutes due to torrential rain with score at 1–1. The match will restart at 10 minutes on 8 October 2015.

Other first-round, first-leg matches are as follows:

8 Oct:
São Tomé and Príncipe vs Ethiopia - Second leg 11 Oct.
Liberia vs Guinea-Bissau - Second leg 13 Oct

9 Oct:
Somalia vs Niger - Second leg 13 Oct.
Gambia vs Namibia - Second leg 13 Oct.
Djibouti vs Swaziland - Second leg 13 Oct.

10 Oct:
Chad vs Sierra Leone - Second leg 13 Oct.
Eritrea vs Botswana - Second leg 13 Oct.
Central African Republic vs Madagascar - Second leg 13 Oct.

Some 26 countries will play over two legs in the first round.

The 13 aggregate winners will advance to the second round, where they will join 27 other teams for another round of home and away matches.

The 20 aggregate winners will advance to the third and final round.

In that round, the 20 teams will be divided into five groups of four teams each

After playing home and away, round robin matches, the winners of each group will qualify to represent Africa at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
