Burundi troops kill 6 FNL rebels

Bujumbura- Burundi (PANA) -- Military authorities announced here Tuesday that government troops killed at least six combatants of the National Liberation Front (FNL) Monday night during clashes in the province of Bujumbura, outside the capital.
Army spokesman Commander Adolphe Manirakiza said the fighting started around midnight in Kabezi, an area experiencing persistent insecurity, when the army responded to a rebel attack.
He did not state casualties on the government side.
The clashes come five days after fighting between the army and FNL combatants in the province of Bujumbura left 15 rebels dead.
