Burundi: Authorities take preventive measures against Ebola

Bujumbura, Burundi (PANA) – The Burundian health authorities are establishing a strategy to preserve the country from the Ebola disease which broke out in several West African countries, the sources told PANA.

Actually, the spokesperson for the Burundian Public health ministry, Dr Thaddée Ndikumana, has announced the reactivation of the medical team which had been established several years ago for the surveillance on the Ebola virus which at that time affected Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Prince Régent Charles hospital of Bujumbura has been selected to receive possible Ebola cases.

The sources say that the virus, which for the time being cannot be treated, manifests itself through several symptoms like fever, diarrhea, vomiting and severe abdominal pains.
