Burkina OAU Summit To Cost 4.9 Billion F CFA

229 billion F CFA is to come from the Burkina government, the country's economy and finance minister, Tertus Zongo, said here.

The minister revealed the figure at a news briefing on the preparations of the 34th OAU Summit to be held in the Burkina capital from 1-10 June .
His Transport and Tourism counterpart, Alain Yoda, urged hoteliers to desist from raising room rental rates during the summit because these had already been communicated to invited guests.
The Chairman of the Accommodation and Catering Commission, Isidore Nabaloum, said delegates would be accommodated in 1,500 hotel rooms while 2,500 others would be lodged in villas at Ouga 2000 near the conference centre located on the outskirts of the capital.
Nabaloum insisted on the need to maintain excellent hygiene and food quality during the summit.
The 33rd OAU summit was held in Harare, Zimbabwe, last year.
