Burkina Faso starts talks to reduce AIDS drugs costs

Ouagadougou- Burkina Faso (PANA) -- A meeting on generic anti-HIV/AIDS drugs has opened in Ouagadougou with the aim of discussing the possible reduction of prices of these products.
Like other countries affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic, Burkina Faso started talks Tuesday with multinational drug firms which produce the anti-retroviral drugs in order to obtain a significant reduction in their costs A think tank headed by the national AIDS eradication centre (CNLS), representatives of foreign laboratories and associations of persons living with HIV, are doubling their efforts to conclude agreements aimed at reducing the costs of the generic drugs.
