Burkina Faso: Switzerland grants Burkina Faso 940m CFAF for gender programme

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) – The Swiss government has given 944 million CFAF to Burkina Faso to enable the African country finance its action plan for a national gender programme, said the Burkinabe ministry of Female promotion.

It said the money will be channeled to the civil society organizations, through the Common gender fund, to narrow inequality gaps between men and women in the sectors of education, vocational training, agriculture, among others.

The latest financial aid follows the first grant provided by Switzerland for the period 2011-2014.

Burkina Faso adopted a national gender programme in a bid to reduce inequalities in development.
