Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) – Journalists in Burkina public on Wednesday embarked on a one-day strike to demand better working and living conditions.
Most journalists working in the public media have gathered at the "Bourse du Travail" in the capital, Ouagadougou, in response to an appeal of their trade union.
In the yard of the Burkina national television (RTB), only the vehicles used for news reports are parked there. The same situation is reported at the daily newspaper "Sidwaya" and at the Burkina National Information Agency (AIB).
Public radio and television programmes have been disrupted, with the stations playing music.
