Brussels: OIF urges Madagascar political actors to prioritise dialogue

Brussels, Belgium (PANA) – The International Francophone Organization (OIF) has urged all political leaders in Madagascar to give priority to dialogue following the decision of the Malagasy high constitutional court to reject MPs' to impeach of president Hery Rajaonarimampianina.

In a communiqué issued to PANA on Monday in Brussels, OIF Secretary General, Mrs Michaelle-Jean, says that in the highest interest of the country “all arrangements must be made for the regular functioning of the government”.

Again, she called all political actors to give priority "in all circumstances" to dialogue in a bid to preserve the fragile stability in Madagascar.

In its communiqué, the OIF head stressed that the national institutions must "set aside divergences" to act in the highest interest of the Malagasy people for the restoration of democracy and rule of law.

OIF reaffirmed its availability to continue backing the consolidation of peace and democracy in Madagascar.
