British Firm to promote SudanAir privatisation

Khartoum- Sudan (PANA) -- British firm Arthur Anderson, has been selected to promote the privatisation of Sudan Airways, a senior Sudanese official announced in Khartoum Wednesday.
Ahmed Ismael Zumrawi, an Under-Secretary in Sudan's Civil Aviation Ministry, said the British firm is expected to endorse the airline's capital and assets being assessed by the Auditor-General's Office before the privatisation.
He said, while a number of privatisation options were being considered, the national carrier preferred becoming a public Company, where the Sudanese Finance Ministry, the airline's employees as well as other local and foreign investors would own shares.
Zumrawi said the airline workers had received various levels of training to raise their efficiency in anticipation of the privatisation.
