British Airways, Angolan Airlines strike deal on new route

Luanda- Angola (PANA) -- Angola Airlines (Taag) and British Airways Tuesday signed an agreement in Luanda to start weekly flights on the Luanda-London route from November.
The agreement for a weekly flight by each of the airlines, was signed by Taag's Board Chairman Mateus Neto and Alan Burnett, British Airways Director for Central, Southern Asia, Middle East and Africa.
Neto said at the signing that the accord marked the start of cooperation between the two companies, adding that under the agreement, Taag would also benefit from technical support and pilots' training from its British counterpart.
The Angolan news agency (ANGOP) quoted Burnett to have underscored the importance of the deal, saying "it is a great step for the extension of service that British Airways renders in Africa".
Taag operates regular flights in Africa, Europe and South America.
