Botswana: VP visits Malaysia

Gaborone, Botswana (PANA) - Botswana’s vice president, Mokgweetsi Masisi, left here Monday for Malaysia on a five-day working visit, primarily focused on the exchange of information and policy issues, according to government spokesperson Jeff Ramsay.

He said said deliberations during the visit will hinge around policy issues pertaining to job creation and poverty eradication.

The visit has been triggered by reports indicating that Malaysia has recently attained high employment level plus sustained economic growth following the launch of the Malaysian Economic Transformation Programme.

In addition, Masisi is expected to meet with officials from the Performance Management Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) of Malaysia, as part of Botswana’s efforts to learn more from the Asian country.
