Board of New Forces meets in Bouaké on Soro

Abidjan- Côte d'Ivoire (PANA) -- Members of the board and high command of the for mer Ivorian rebel group, New Forces (NF), will meet on Monday in Bouaké, central Cote d’Ivoire, to take a decision on the resignation of Prime Minister Guillaume Soro, a press release signed by Mr Alain Lobognon, the NF's communication direct o r, said on Friday.
The meeting follows an appeal made by some delegates at the 12 and 13 April meet ing of the New Forces to Mr Soro to resign from his duties as Prime minister “so that he will not be blamed for blocking the electoral process”.
The scheduled meeting promises to be important, as it will give the opinion of t he NF political wing.
“It is important to point out that the appeal made by the delegates was very wel l noted by the general secretary, Prime Minister Guillaume Soro,” Mr Lobognon sa i d in the press release, adding that “this appeal interpreted in different ways will be the subject in the coming few days of a debate within the various entities of the New Forces for the making of courageous and historic de c isions”.
Sources said Mr Méité Sindou, spokesman of the Prime minister, had stated to the press that the Prime Minister would continue to carry on with his duties and th a t the declaration made by the delegates does not commit the political board.
