Benin welcomes Blacks from the Diaspora

Cotonou- Benin (PANA) -- Benin was ready to welcome all Blacks in the Diaspora wishing to return to the land of their ancestors, Benin Minister of Culture, Handicrafts and Tourism, Amos Elegbe, announced here Friday.
Elegbe said as Benin was the point of departure for slaves toward the Americas, it was logical that he get involved in the homecoming of the descendants of slaves who wish to return and live on the land of their ancestors.
He made the remarks to reports on the fringes of the ongoing International Gospel and Roots Festival in Cotonou.
