Benin hosts conference on slave descendants

Porto-Novo- Benin (PANA) -- More than a hundred researchers and policy makers are expected at an international conference on the Aguda or descendants of former slaves, billed for 20-26 November in Porto-Novo, Benin.
Organised by the Benin-based School of African Heritage (EPA), the conference would highlight aspects of the Afro-Brazilian heritage in the Gulf of Benin.
The forum would feature latest research on the Black Diaspora on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as seek to promote Trans- Atlantic research programmes and cultural tourism based on the Afro-Brazilian heritage.
Also on the agenda are an exhibition, debates and workshops.
