Benin committed to peace consolidation in Africa - Envoy

Banjul- Gambia (PANA) -- Benin remains resolutely committed to contributing to the African Union's efforts to prevent and resolve conflicts on the continent, the country's envoy to the AU in Addis Ababa has said.
Ambassador Jean Marie Ehouzou indicated that Benin was always ready to help pacify sources of tension in Africa and to take actions for the democratisation of the continent.
He was speaking in an interview with PANA Thursday on the sidelines of the AU executive council session taking place here ahead of the heads of state summit schedule for 1-2 July.
"We must not wait until we are in a conflict to recognise that it is may undermine the country's development," he said, adding that Benin has been involved in all decisions to resolve conflicts in AU member states.
