Belgium: Saudi King Abdullah releases US$35 million for Ebola war in West Africa

Brussels, Belgium (PANA) – King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz al-Saud of Saudi Arabia has donated US$35 million to help in the war against the deadly Ebola virus disease in West Africa, says a communiqué from the King’s Palace in Jeddah issued to PANA on Thursday in Brussels.

The communiqué says that the funds will help buy thermometers, special equipment to be placed at airports, train stations and bus terminals, as well as medical equipment to help in the diagnosis of the disease to facilitate the treatment and prevention of the epidemic.

The money will fund specialised centres in the treatment of Ebola to be set up in the three most affected countries (Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea) as well as Mali.
