BREAKING NEWS: ECOWAS leaders sanction Guinea

Abuja- Nigeria (PANA) -- The Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS) on Saturday imposed an arms embargo on Guinea under its (ECOWAS) Convention on Small Arms and Light Weapons to forestall further killing of innocent Guineans.
"In view of the atrocities that have been committed, and the steps taken by the CNDD (National Council for Democracy and Development) authorities to acquire new weapons, the Authority decides to impose an arms embargo on Guinea under the ECOWAS Convention on Small Arms and Light Weapons, their Ammunitions and related Materials," ECOWAS leaders said in a communiquأ© issued after their emergency meeting in Abuja, Nigeria.
